Friendly URLs
Friendly URLs make it easier to publicize areas of your website. Occassionally URLs generated by a CMS can be long and not particularly user friendly. Jadu Central lets you set up your own Friendly URLs via the Utilities module.
Navigating to the Friendly URL area
- Click the Utilities icon in the left navigation bar. The Utilities menu will open.
- Click the Friendly URLs link in the first group of links. The list of "Friendly URLs" will now be shown.
Friendly URL fields
Field | Notes | Required? |
---|---|---|
Friendly name | This is the friendly name that can be added to the end of your site address to access the web page in question (e.g. www.jadu.net/mobile). | ✅ |
Actual address | This is the actual address of the page that the Friendly URL points to. | ✅ |
Illegal characters should NOT be used within a friendly name. For example @, £, #, >, *. Also, spaces between words should NOT be used.
If either are used then it will create error messages on your website and in effect, break it. Only letters and numbers can be used.
Reserved and Excluded Friendly URLs
Some terms are reserved by Jadu Central to display out of the box functionality, and are not available to create friendly URLs.
In addition, friendly URLs must not replicate a term that is used as a Galaxies site shortcut or a URL slug.
Reserved terms include:

- Navigate to the Friendly URL management area.
- Click the Actions menu, and select Bulk import from the available options. The Bulk import panel will open.
