Tracking and reverting changes

Track changes will let you compare previous versions of your content, and also allow you to rollback to any previous version.

Track changes is available on:

  • councillors
  • A to Z services
  • galleries
  • homepages
  • downloads
  • events
  • news
  • document headers
  • document pages

Comparing past versions

  1. Open the content you wish to compare.
  2. Click the Actions menu and click the Track changes option when the menu opens.
  3. The track changes pages will open. Two versions of the content are shown side by side, with deletions highlighted in red and additions highlighted in green.

All versions are saved by date and time and selecting different versions will provide a side by side view of changes in comparison to the live version of the page.

Reverting to a pervious version

  1. Open track changes for the content being reverted, and compare the current version to the version you wish to rollback to.
  2. Click the Rollback to this version button.
  3. The current version of your content will then be replaced with the selected previous version

This only affects the draft version of your content, any pending changes will need to be progressed through your workflow approval process before being made live.
